The Subaru Legacy represents a great midsize car at The Autobarn Subaru of Countryside. Its high-end interior, large number of included features, and good engine selection help it stand out in a crowded and competitive field. If you would like to find a new midsize car, then take a look at the new Legacy for sale at our dealership.

The design of the Legacy appears sleek and stylish. The Subaru car has a swept profile that gives it a modern and sporty look, but it still has a distinct identity. The interior of the Legacy looks great as well. The layout remains smart and thoughtful to maximize room and sightlines. The Legacy's overall design evokes the performance of an agile vehicle without compromising on the practical availability of space.

Chicago drivers have the option of two engines to choose from on the new Subaru Legacy. The base has a 2.5-liter engine with 182 horsepower. For more power, you can upgrade to a turbocharged SUBARU BOXER® engine that gets 260 horsepower. That's a big increase, and although your engine selection pairs with your trim choice, most drivers can appreciate the more powerful engine. The transmission remains a CVT, and it adjusts smoothly enough that you won't notice it as you cruise around town. All Legacy models have Subaru's exclusive symmetrical all-wheel drive as a standard feature. Despite that, the Legacy has very good fuel efficiency compared to other midsize cars.

Interior & Technology

The interior of the Legacy appears spacious and well-equipped with infotainment technologies. Both rows have enough space for adults to sit comfortably with plenty of clearance for legs and heads. The quality of the materials appears excellent, contributing to both the comfort and the feel of the riding experience. Tech amenities include a 7-inch touchscreen, USB ports, smartphone connectivity, and a pair of USB ports to start, with plenty of upgrades once you get past the base trim. The 2021 Legacy makes an appealing package with great value for your money.

The 2021 Subaru Legacy has top scores in crash tests from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Also, it has a long list of automated safety features. It gets adaptive cruise control, forward automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and several more features, all standard, mirroring those found in a luxury vehicle. You can get a few more driver-assist features on higher trims as well, such as blind spot monitoring. Other cars tend to restrict more of these features to the top trims, if available at all.

Subaru Legacy Trim Levels

The Legacy has six available trim levels for Broadview drivers to consider. The bottom four have the base engine, and the top two have the upgraded engine. The base trim has cloth upholstery and all the standard features listed above. The second trim, the Subaru Legacy Premium, has powered and heated front seats, a much larger touchscreen, and two more USB ports for the back row. The third trim arrives as the Subaru Legacy Sport, and it restyles the car and adds little extras like push-button start and keyless entry.

The fourth trim, the Subaru Legacy Limited, adds several new safety features, leather upholstery, heated rear seats, and a sound system upgrade for your Oak Lawn commutes. Next up, we have the Subaru Legacy Limited XT. It takes the Limited, upgrades the engine, and adds a moonroof, navigation, and a few other features. The top trim comes as the Subaru Legacy Touring XT. It has Nappa leather, ventilation for the front seats, and a front-facing camera.
