Technician Duties and Responsibilities

As a technician at The Autobarn Subaru of Countryside, you will be required to keep up to date with regular training and factory technical bulletins. You will also be expected to perform the following:

• Receive repair orders from the dispatcher and move the client's vehicle to the stall area.
• Perform any work that is outlined in the repair order. You should work accurately and efficiently while meeting federal, state, and local regulations governing service repair work, as well as dealership and factory standards.
• Accurately diagnose the cause of any vehicle malfunctions and perform the authorized repair once the problem is assessed.
• Communicate with the parts department if parts or fluids are required for the service. If the customer has requested that you save the old parts or perform warranty work, you will need to tag the parts, save them, and turn them in.
• If any additional work is needed on a vehicle, or if the work requested is not needed, or if the work takes more time than expected, you will need to let the service advisor know immediately.
• Document the work you perform, quality check your work, and road test the vehicle to make sure that the issue has been addressed.
