What's New for 2024?
The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is completely refreshed for its third generation. A stiffer chassis provides improved handling and ride quality, and Subaru EyeSight® driver aids are now standard across the lineup. Additionally, all trims above the base model get a new 11.6-inch Subaru STARLINK® touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration. But perhaps the biggest change is the introduction of Subaru's third Wilderness® model, providing more off-road capability than ever.
Performance
The Subaru Crosstrek comes standard with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Subaru BOXER® engine (152 horsepower, 145 pound-feet of torque), Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and X-MODE® traction control. The Crosstrek Wilderness upgrades the powertrain to a 2.5-liter BOXER® (182 horsepower, 176 pound-feet of torque) with a revised final-drive ratio and stronger rear differential for improved low-speed climbing.
Subaru X-MODE® optimizes the power output, transmission ratio, and all-wheel drive system engagement to reduce individual wheelspin and improve grip on low-friction surfaces. The Wilderness trim enhances the Crosstrek's traction management system with additional settings for Deep Snow and Mud.
Wilderness models increase ground clearance from 8.7 to 9.3 inches and have increased approach/departure angles, protective cladding, and a front skid plate. Standard Yokohama GEOLANDAR® tires provide improved performance on mud, snow, gravel, and rocky terrain. And thanks to the transmission oil cooler, Crosstrek Wilderness models can tow up to 3,500 pounds - an impressive number for the subcompact class.
Interior and Technology
The Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness is comfortable and accommodating, with modern interior styling, ample passenger space, and ergonomic seats you won't mind passing the miles in. The water-repellent StarTex-upholstered seats are attractive, durable, and easy to clean, so you don't have to worry about getting a little dirty. The heated mirrors, windshield, and front seats provide comfort and convenience for wintry Broadview travels. You'll also enjoy seamless, cable-free connectivity with an 11.6-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a wireless charging pad.
With all seats upright, the Crosstrek Wilderness retains 20 cubic feet for gear or groceries. When an errand or outing requires more carrying capacity, you can fold the rear seats for 54.7 cubic feet. For the largest cargo, the Crosstrek Wilderness has reinforced raised roof rails with a dynamic (moving) capacity of 165 pounds and a static (stationary) load limit of 700 pounds - ideal for a rooftop tent.
