Subaru is expanding its electric lineup in a big way with the all-new 2026 Trailseeker. Following the footsteps of the Solterra, this midsize all-electric SUV combines strength, design, and everyday usability. First revealed at the 2025 New York International Auto Show, the Trailseeker is expected to arrive in early 2026, giving Chicago-area drivers an exciting new EV option with bold styling and rugged capability.
Performance and Range
The Trailseeker's dual-motor system produces 375 horsepower, allowing it to accelerate from 0–60 mph in a manufacturer-estimated 4.5 seconds. Subaru's EV-tuned Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive provides surefooted handling in various conditions, while the dual-function X-MODE® system helps enhance traction on loose or slippery surfaces.
The 2026 Trailseeker has a 75-kWh battery, allowing it to travel a manufacturer-estimated 260 miles between charges. It also offers fast-charging capability, including compatibility for the North American Charging System (NACS) network. That means you'll have access to thousands of stations across the country and can restore up to 80% of your charge quickly on the go.
